Mushroom Logs for Mother's Day

Nothing says Mother's Day quite like Shiitake mushroom log inoculation, am I right?! Well maybe that's not quite true, but here at Edible Eden Foodscapes we're all for new traditions.

We hosted our first independent workshop on May 8th out in beautiful Parkton, Maryland. While the rest of the week was cold, cloudy and wet, Sunday brought clear skies and great sun. We certainly had a great time with our workshop attendees who came out to learn the art, but mostly science, behind growing Shiitake mushrooms out of oak logs. Our lucky participants even got to take home logs of their very own. In 8-9 months the payoff of these logs should be pretty satisfying.

With the success of our first workshop, we're brainstorming more workshop ideas for the upcoming months. Stay tuned for future offerings. If you're interested in having us teach a mushroom log workshop for you and your friends get in contact with us or check out some other workshops and classes that we offer.
