Joshua Rosenstein: Permaculture designer, Educator, and Founder of Edible Eden Foodscapes
My Story
I’m Josh Rosenstein, founder of Edible Eden Foodscapes. For over a decade, I worked hands-on designing and building edible landscapes for homeowners, businesses, schools, and communities — helping people turn their yards into productive, beautiful food systems. For many years I also ran educational farms helping people connect to where their food comes from. Through that work, I saw first-hand how powerful it can be when people reconnect with growing their own food — not just for sustainability, but for health, learning, and daily quality of life.
Real-World Experience
Over the years, I’ve worked on hundreds of projects, from small backyard gardens to full on educational and production farms. My experience taught me that every landscape is unique — and that successful gardens come from understanding the land, the people involved, and how they work together. My approach is rooted in permaculture principles, focusing on systems that are productive, resilient, and aligned with natural patterns.
How I Work
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all garden plans.
Instead, I help people:
• Read and understand their landscape
• Work with natural systems like sun/shade, water flow, and soil tilth
• Choose plants that fit their microclimates and goals
• Build gardens that are both productive, beautiful and manageable
My goal is to give you clarity and confidence so you can move forward with your garden in a way that actually works for your life.
Where I Am Now
These days, I’m traveling with my family and offering virtual consultations and teaching online. This shift has allowed me to focus on what I enjoy most — helping people understand their land and design gardens that truly work for them, wherever they are.
Why This Work Matters to Me
Growing food changes how we relate to our environment, our health, and our communities.
Whether you’re working with a balcony, a backyard, a homestead, or a market farm, the process of building a productive landscape is deeply rewarding.
I’m here to help make that process clearer, simpler, and more achievable.
